SCAR RELEASE THERAPY

The Dolphin Neurostim™ is an innovative technology that uses Microcurrent point stimulation (MPS) therapy to quickly and effectively treat scars both new and old.

It is especially effective at promoting healing, releasing adhesions, reducing pain and improving the appearance and mobility of scar tissue.

Two units are used for the process applying a small, low level current along the length of the scar to help loosen and break up the scar tissue.

How Scar Tissue Can Affect the Body

  • Chronic pain
  • Increased stress response (activation of the sympathetic nervous system)
  • Formation of internal adhesions
  • Reduced lymphatic and circulatory flow
  • Restricted movement due to fascial tension
  • Can contribute to stored tension patterns following injury or trauma

Benefits of Scar Release Therapy

  • Reduced pain and sensitivity around the scar
  • Improved sensation (less numbness or tingling)
  • Enhanced healing and tissue recovery
  • Improved mobility and flexibility of the tissue
  • Diminished scar size
  • Reduced tightness and adhesions
  • Increased blood flow and circulation

Scar tissue has  different electrical properties than healthy tissue. This can disrupt normal communication within the body and contribute to increased stress and tension. Healthy skin tissue holds a resting electrical charge of 80mV and scar tissue can be 20 times this voltage with a positive polarity. This newly formed bioelectrical altered scar tissue emits ongoing silent but turbulent signals into the Sympathetic Nervous System leading to the activation of STRESS.

Treating the scars using the Dolphin Neurostim™ can help to re-polarize the new scar tissue back to normal to improve cellular signalling and blood flow.

What kind of Scars can be treated?

  • C-Sections
  • Tummy tuck scars
  • Breast scars/Mastectomy scars
  • Gallbladder/Appendectomy
  • Hysterectomy
  • Hernia scars
  • Knee and Hip replacement scars

C-Sections are the most common surgery in the world! These scars have shown to lead to a multitude of health problems including chronic post surgical pain, back pain, shoulder/neck pain and neuropathic pain.

Whether trying to return back to exercise or day to day activities after surgery there is a safe and effective option to heal your scar and get you back to doing the things you love!

FAQ’s

How Many Sessions are needed?

The number of sessions is determined by the depth and healing capacity of the scar. On average 3-5 treatments are needed.

What are the contraindications?

  • Being pregnant
  • Having a cardiac pacemaker
  • Epilepsy/Seizures
  • Cancer/Tumour around the area

Is it safe?

The Dolphin Neurostimulation is thousands of times less in strength than traditional AC TENS devices and is therefore far safer – and far more effective – in the treatment of chronic and acute pain.

Is it safe to use on a knee or hip replacement?

YES - metal is not a contraindication and it is safe to use.

Does it hurt?

Most people find the stimulation to be painless with a slight feeling of warmth. The more dense the tissue, the more sensation can be felt with a slight tingling sensation.
